I was watching my Chucky Bluray collection that I bought on Amazon and my Samsung Bluray Player kept freezing Child's Play 1 during playback. But when I put in my dvd version of the movie

is it the bluray disc? Cause my dvds dont have this problem on the bluray player. and my other bluray movies don't have this problem

It could be. I don't know, this isn't really easy to answer.

My Halloween Deluxe boxset doesn't have this problem. So is it my Chucky set?

If all the discs look the same and don't have any wear or tear, then it's possible that it could just be the quality of the Chucky set.

Is there a way to check on Amazon where I got the set from? I'm not sure if I got it factory sealed from Amazon itself or from a person who shipped it

Cause when I first tried watching Child's Play 1 earlier tonight, my bluray disc kept eithe

1): Skipping in playback
2): Froze in playback
3): kept making a noise in the player when it didn't do those two things

and then when I took out the bluray disc and put in my dvd version of Child's Play 1 that I have, the noise and skipping stopped

If this is your first time using your bluray disk, then that's definitely a possibility. Maybe it wasn't as new as it promised and something went wrong. If the DVD version works then it's definitely not the player, so the problem has to come from there.

Nah, not yet. I mostly get cheap CDs from Amazon, anyways.

how do you know if a bluray disc is scratched or has fingerprints?

One of the advances of Blu-Ray is that even scratched it should still play. It's due to how the date is imprinted on the disc. Also, the same point on a Blu-Ray isn't going to necessarily be the same spot on the DVD, due to various things like content before, length etc.

Try cleaning the disk with the recommended stuff. I think it's normally just plain water and a soft cloth. Also try cleaning the reader head. I have a cleaning disc with little brushes on it. I use it on everything that has a disc reader. Once you've tried cleaning everything and it still doesn't work, it could be a screw up in the way the Blu-Ray was encoded too. I would try to find another Blu-Ray disc to test it out.

Once you've exhausted all those options you should have a clear idea of what's wrong. Because I've listed all possible problems that I could think of that would cause one specific disc not to play lol. Hope it helps
