Well not voting isn't the way to clean up the problem. if politicians know you'll vote them out of office, they will do things to benefit you.

Everyone is interested in the latest pop female gossip that means nothing not in what old corn chip looking guys in congress are doing that affects the lives of the average american.

Embarrassing that people my age don't believe their vote matters still.

It's not like it matters anyway. Nothing has been done lately in US politics anyway. Tell me when (it's sad that I can think of all of these off the top of my head):

- Gun control becomes stricter
- The flawed education system is fixed (less standardized tests, no curriculum standard i.e. Common Core, etc.)
- The national debt decreases
- Student loans become bearable
- Church and state become completely separated
- The U.S. stops trying to be world police
- Republicans and Democrats stop sticking exactly to the image of their party
- Attack ads stop airing and super PACs lose influence
- Marijuana is legalized in more than a few states
- Police stop racial profiling
- Prison conditions improve (see Norway for an extreme example)
- The minimum wage is raised
- Income taxes are cut
- Welfare is fixed
- Abortion is legalized nationwide
- The wealth gap stops widening

Pretty much . I bet those who did not vote are also the ones who are first in line to complain about unfair policies and issues.
