Ice Princess is an important song for the album in the context that it really needed a hard hitting, straight up hip-hop track. LBR we've had BBD for almost 2 years now and it's a knock but I don't even think that it deserves to be on BWET.. not with how strong the rest of the material is in comparison
But Ice Princess is basically Azealia scalping anyone who says she can't do 'real hip hop', and of course she includes a house breakdown just to rub it in everyone's faces that her music is multifaceted, but truly, truly, truly it's one of the best songs on the album, just based on her hip-hop word play alone.
BBD does deserve to be on BWET but I see what you mean. Ice Princess is definitely THAT song that solidifies her as a rapper worth paying attention to in case anyone needed that.
Although I DO respect everyone's love for Ice Princess and it really is a good hip-hop track, I personally don't like it relative to what else is on the album. It's probably one of my less favorites, but at the same time, it's definitely a standout track and I understand the acclaim it's receiving.

Ice Princess and Chasing Time are my least favorites. but Chasing Time grew on me after the video and Ice Princess sounded hot when I played it out loud in the car today.
I totally see the appeal in both songs though and am all for her pushing them as singles.

Idk what it is, but I have so much love for the genre-blending tracks and the ones that showcase her artistic ability rather than her hip-hop prowess (which is something we all and the GP already knew). Yeah, Ice Princess has the EDM chorus, but songs like JFK, Soda, Miss Camaraderie, and Gimme a Chance really showcase the kind of musician she wants to establish herself to be.
