religion is of the schemes, along with culture and education, that government use to control people's mind. the rules and constitution of a country are found on the ethical standards and the ethical standards are found the revelation and moral of relegion, in other words, people fear of doing something because they believe in retribution.

Atheism the lack of fearness of supernatural punishment and revelation are the primary of Anarchism. your goverment of course doesn't like it.

It's not the job of Christians/theists to force God upon atheists (which they do) and it's not the job of atheists to force theists to stop believing (which they do).

Until atheists and Christians both respect each other's mindsets (which they don't), then there will always be a problem. Unfortunately, in a deeply Christian country like the US, it will end up being atheists who suffer for it.

Everyone always wants these discussions to have some kind of one-sided answer to fit their current agenda. It doesn't work that way. Atheists and Christians both have very vocal spokespeople that try to force their opinion on everyone else. Both sides need to stop trying to force everyone to bend to their will and just accept that people are different and everyone isn't going to believe the same thing. "Respect each other and their religious beliefs as equal to your own" should be the golden rule.
