This is excluding a lot of important, accepting countries. Where's Sweden and the Netherlands? They're known for being very accepting of homosexuality.

I'm actually surprised we scored that high considering how many Bible thumpers there are here. I guess the one thing Americans hate more than gays is blacks.

In my country Croatia it's 35% of acceptance which like every 3rd person is accepting. It's a big progress by 20% in the last 10 years! We're gettin' there, hold on Europe and America!

I for one am dealing with the daily struggle of accepting heterosexuality.

This map is from 2013. I don't know how the hell did some countries (like Italy for instance) improve more than 50% in less then one year according to PEW?? As I said before this is some crappy survey I would not trust much. ILGA-Europe releases their figures each year and therefore they are probably more trustworthy on the European issue than some American reasearch centre...

They measure cultural acceptance together with legality.

No part of Czech Republic is as liberal as NY or LA is. Yet USA ranks a lot lower. Well OF COURSE. Because the country is fifty times bigger.

This map, on the other hand, is a LOT more accurate.

Many western European countries would have better scores if they handled trans issues better. Some have marriage, adoption, anti-discrimination, but laws that say in order to change gender you need to be sterilized
