I used to make fun of other people's music tastes back in the day, and I believe that I did so because I was trying to protect my own taste in music on a site where very few people liked the same type of music as I did. In that sense, I was definitely a music snob.
But as time went by, I grew up and realized that shunning people because of their music taste is stupid, because music taste, in and of itself, is subjective. People should be allowed to listen to whatever type of music they want to listen to, no matter what that music is, and it's really none of my business to care about what those people like or dislike. Do I still dislike songs? Sure. But I don't look down on someone if they DO like those songs that I dislike. I just focus even more on the music that I enjoy and move on.
Besides, my two favorite bands/artists are Muse and Korn. That fact alone makes it impossible for me to be a "real" music snob.
