I'm surprised people are coming for Madonna, claiming that her reminiscing about a dead friend is somehow exploitation and desperation.

She and Michael are in a league of their own, who knows how intimate their relationship was? We don't because both are/were very private people despite having the biggest, most iconic profiles in the industry.

It must be hard to be as famous as Madonna, have gone through so much ******** as Madonna, and not have anyone who can relate to her. Who can she pick up the phone and call and say "you know what, I'm having a bad day"? Who would understand her? Janet? LOL.

I think Madonna might've been intrigued by the idea of screwing Michael, but I doubt they ever messed around. Let's put it this way, when she and MJ were hanging out she had just come out of a relationship with Warren Beatty and had begun dating a former softcore **** model named Tony Ward. Michael wasn't exactly her type.

And excuse me @ people accusing Madonna of exploiting Michael like he wasn't trying to exploit her with that collaboration. She, like Prince when he was invited to appear on Bad, was the edgiest pop artist then. The title ("In The Closet") was clearly pandering to her interest in gay culture, and he even made a video for it with Herb Ritts.

He wussied out from Madonna's ideas (which were truly edgy) and I think that's why he spoke badly of her later on - he was embarrassed.
