He stayed on as the mentor for last season. This season he's not going to be on the show in any capacity.

I think they should just pull the plug and try to relaunch it in four or five years. The show is so small now that I didn't even know he was just a mentor this year.

Nah I think American Idol will always exist. As long as they keep getting newer judges/ones with social media impact viewers will tune in.
