It's smart to take music off of Spotify. It makes the person buy the music instead of streaming it. Artists barely make anything off of streaming. They'll be living like us normal people pretty soon if this continues.

You know, after reading about how horrible the payout can be for some artists -- I think a protest in which huge artists and labels remove all their content would really force them to raise payouts and royalty rates.

Once there's too much big artists and big songs missing people will stop using it / stop paying for Premium.

But I don't know -- I've read Spotify themselves have earned little profit since start because it's been all about getting the library which costs so much in it's self. Streaming really needs a re-organization.

All this is going to do is lead to the rise of new artists who are still on Spotify. Unless a vast majority of "major" artists leave, people will still use the service and will find other artists to listen to instead.

The people who buy music are different than the ones who stream music, tho.
I find this kinda stupid, if someone can't stream your music, they'll just go on YouTube or just illegally download the song.

I know Spotify's rates are the pits and get the rationale for some artists to pull their music but isn't getting some money for music better than getting nothing at all? Music is becoming more and more devauled anyway. Something not being on Spotify (if you really want it) will lead more ppl to pirate, right?
