I don't wanna sound greedy, but I figured considering how long the album has been done she'd be further along into the next projects and not starting off.

i think it has to do a lot with her focusing on trying to release this album. i'm certain she has been writing and recording but with the stress of this release alone, her time was probably limited when it came to putting the songs she recorded all together as a whole project.

If she was upset the label was making her do "hits", why is she releasing Chasing Time? She could done with label backing if she was gonna release it anyways.

Am I the only one who noticed she mentioned "Chasing Time" during her discussing the relationship with Interscope? So the song isn't a break up song about a man, but her label. Makes the song much more interesting.
