Okay so here I am with my post-ArtRave depression, I enjoyed so much last night that now returning to reality sucks lol. Well the show was amazing! I went dressed with my DOPE inspired look and my best friend who made a collage of Gaga pics and hooked it to a vest, it looked really cool.
We arrived to Palau Sant Jordi at 7pm more or less and before they opened the doors we could interact with other monsters and they were from all parts of Spain and it was so funny to talk about Gaga and stuff like on ATRL but in real life lol We had never talked with anyone there in the past 2 shows (maybe because we were younger, especially in the MBT) and it was great.
Now they finally opened the doors and we could enter after the queues! It was my third time at the Palau so I wasn't so impressed but I think I had never seen a light / laser of the show. Wow it was huge and looked like a canyon lol they had it almost in the entrance so just at the other end of where the stage was. We then went to find our seats. I'm going to be honest, the seats were not as good as the ones I paid for the BTWB but still more than decent. I was on the second floor or level (I don't know how to say this in English lol) but the closest to the main stage so we could see everything from the side.
Openers! Wow this Breedlove guy really impressed my I liked his set very much I'm going to check out his EP which he mentioned was avaiable on iTunes lol Then the favourite lady of the monsters, Lady Starlight took the stage for about 40 minutes. Her set wasn't so bad if we compare it to what she did in the past shows but it took forever to end and people got tired of it rather soon. Someone behind me was screaming her to go
Unfortunately the show wasn't sold out because some seats here and there remained empty, it's a shame because I don't remember that happening in neither the MBT nor the BTWB but oh well what are we going to do? It could be very possible, though, that those seats were from resellers who couldn't sell their tickets and decided not to attend. I say this because before entering the Palau it happened, resellers were leaving as they weren't selling any tickets (in the MBT in Madrid there was a problem of about 2k fake tickets so since then people don't want to buy to unofficial providers). Anyway, it wasn't really noticeable and overall it looked packed but what happened with the floor (general admission)? Look I don't know what is this thing with the line or security or what, the ArtRave has but the 1/3 at the bottom was empty (
). It looks kinda bad tbh and it's what Gaga sees most of the time (in front) but whatever.
The show started and people went crazy when she appeared oh my God I almost melted when I heard that high pitch voice singing ARTPOP
she looked flawless I couldn't belive I was sharing 'room' with the Queen, the real and only Lady Gaga was there I had her in front of me again oh my
It's true that YT videos don't do justice to the show and especially THE VOICE, in YT it seems like she's always using the backing track and that it's high af but no, you can always hear her amazing singing voice and distinguish when she stops singing (for example Aura's chorus lol she only sang the first line of it).
I boped hard to all the songs but something happened during MANiCURE. Apparently Gaga jumed onto the crowd (at first I thought she had fallen down the platform
) and her security guards had to jump too because they were not taking her back to the stage
(lol I was so scared). They finally got her out of the mess and she was okey but... when she was gone security / health workers had to evacuate 2 unconscious girls. I don't know what happened but they got hurt, maybe when Gaga jumped, maybe when the bodyguards jumped... I wish she hadn't done that because it was such a risk and I couldn't fully enjoy the next 2 songs. Another thing that happened is that after PARTYNAUSEOUS she didn't come onstage and the dancers had to improvise for 5 minutes and poor of me I was thinking something really bad had happened
but nothing she finally came, sang paparazzi and the rest of songs. She slayed DOPE and cried (
) also sang What's Up with a fan she took onstage which the crowd really loved it.
She was all the time trying to say words in Spanish and screaming Barcelona and stuff, she knows how to win a crowd. At the beginning she said that she was sorry for the people who came only for the hits because she was going to play plenty of ARTPOP lol. At some point an inflatable doll of Tonny Bennett (
) was thrown onstage and she looked so embarrassed and said she was glad Tony made it to the show. After Bang Bang she asked a fan for a beer and drank it all lol she was thirsty!
The last songs made the crowd even wilder: Bad Romance, Applause, Swine (which is so euphoric!!!!) and Gypsy after the mini break. I just loved it all, the show is AMAZING a big big party, I think that I would have even enjoyed Fashion! if she had sung it (
). ARTPOP truly came to life and Gaga seemed so happy. What a night!!!
The energy was insane!
