Meaning do you enjoy celebrating your own birthday and bringing lots of attention to yourself on that day?

Im not a birthday person at all, not only do I hate getting older but I also hate having attention drawn towards me like that. When I was younger this one kid was really mean to me for no reason and ruined my birthday so Ive grown up avoiding people on my birthday so that no one can ruin the day for me.

Next week I turn 19 and I dont think ill have anything to do on my birthday, im gonna skip school and my mom will be working, and i dont want to plan anything with friends cause i feel like ill be bothering them and that they dont care. So ill end up just sitting around all day.

Not really. I might mention it a little on Twitter and around friends but I don't go around to the whole world trying to get happy birthday replies. Like my birthday was on a school day last year and I didn't even tell any of the teachers (like I usually would in elementary/middle school.)

I know girls who used to wear tiara's to school and some nowadays still bring treats to school to celebrate their birthday. i guess some people really just dont care about the attention. i just find it awkward when people say happy birthday to me especially in person, so i just avoid people all together.

No. But that's mainly because I have social anxiety. I try to avoid people in real life, that's why for my birthday it's a nightmare to have a lot of people contacting me. I also don't like to bring attention to myself, so I don't like parties or dinners where I am the person of the day.

My birthday is soon, and I've already switched off my phone. And I've already told my family members not to plan anything.

No, I've started dreading my birthdays since I turned 21 two years ago. After reaching that milestone there's nothing else to look forward to and it's just another year older. Depressing

I like when it's my birthday as it makes me feel special, although I don't go round telling everybody it's my birthday, that's just weird, I just hope I have a good birthday today though as I don't want any negativity, as it would kind of ruin my day. I liked it when I was younger though as I had birthday parties which was fun, but since 2 years ago it's gotten so boring doing nothing on my birthday, although this time me and my twin sister are going out for a meal with her boyfriend, our sister, our grandmother and our mum. I'm so depressed that I'm 20 now, I'm a fully fledged adult, not fair.

Omg right People will bring balloons, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, etc. You could always tell that someone had a birthday when you're walking behind a bunch of balloons in the hallway. I'll just tell some of my closer friends that it's my birthday that day, they say happy birthday and that's it. No need for anything bigger than that (or at least not during school, wait until after.)

I don't like to attract attention to myself in general so I'm not one of those people who go around telling people its my birthday or who changes their Twitter handle to "Birthday Boy" or whatever on their birthday. I don't really like having big parties either, I usually just go to the movie theatre with 2 or 3 friends for my birthday.

Nope. I avoid telling anyone when is my birthday, or usually lie about it. I don't really care, it's jut a sad and irrelevant day.

SAME (and 21 isn't even actually significant of anything in NZ ). Now the numbers are just growing and adding up and all the restrictions of growing older are creeping up. Why am I being forced to work simply to live? Life is boring.

The last time I celebrated my birthday was when I was like 10 (I'm 22 now).

I love other people's birthdays, because of the parties, but I hate mine just because my relatives ANNOY me with birthday wishes all day
