The enjoyment he got from (mentally) abusing Hazel E was sick. He let her know numerous times he didn't like her like that, but did everything in his power to make her feel weak and small, as if she had done him wrong and was a longtime life partner. Imagine what he would do with his fists, when the cameras and security men aren't around, to someone he actually "liked"?
