Some of you may say that the scores are too high, but this album is very solid. What I like about it is that despite of having 16 tracks it's still very cohesive. The way it flows from being smooth and sophisticated (tracks 1-3) to fierce yet hood songs (4-6) to aggressive rachet anthems (7-10) to melancholic and feel-good songs (11-14) and closing with 90s dancefloor essentials. This piece of work is very authentic, only Azealia could pull it off. And this is the authenticy that we could only see through her tweets for the last two years. I'm so happy that BWET is finally out, and it was definitely worth the waiting.
This is probably the best description of the album I've seen. It goes so well and so smoothly.
So many lyrical gems on this I'll be unpacking forever: on Soda, she sings, "Icy Cola-Coca," not "Icy Coca-Cola," and that inversion is just killing me right now. Can't even explain why I find it so effective and thrilling.
I guess I get why she got rid of the laugh at the outset of HM&R and "DANGER DANGER" from YR, as they'd be a bit more jarring in the context of the album, but I must confess I miss them both...
Idg how people delete or add songs to albums when they're not supposed to be there. If I did that it would constantly bother me
Same, it would seem so wrong. But aside from that, I just think what's the point? You can still listen to the other song whenever you want even if it's not on the album.
Oh my God, I think this just beat out Yeezus for my favorite workout album. Every track got me so hyped in a different way. JFK practically had me strutting on the treadmill, and then that 212 to Yung Rapunxel stretch needs no explanation.
