1st Single: Crazy Stupid Love (Feat. Tinie Tempah)
2nd Single: I Don't Care
3rd Single: All In One Night
4th Single: Only Human

Spain, Italy and France stopped being big markets years ago.
Spain was the 4th biggest market years ago only after USA, UK and Japan, and with albums selling 1 million copies... Now if an album sells 60,000 copies is a big success. Something similar is happening in Italy and France.
And why rush another album for next year?

Is there any chance she will promote outside of the UK?
Promo in Australia would be amazing.

What? Germany is and was the biggest music market in Europe.

The biggest market in Europe is the UK... And yes, Spain was the 2nd biggest market in Europe after the UK 15 years ago, before illegal downloads started to be unstoppable.
It doesn't matter anyway, no market in Europe (bar the UK) is worth to spend time and money in them anymore. A couple of weeks in Australia are preferible than doing it in Europe.

Germany & the UK are constantly swaping 1st & 2nd positions as being the biggest market in Europe. Italy & Spain are irrelevant.

I was talking about the years Europe as a whole was the biggest music market, where an artist could make a lot of money only from album sales alone.
It's not the case anymore.
@Blazing, swaping places? How many singles sell more than 500,000 copies in Germany? 1? 2? And albums?

In 2010, album sales in the U.K., which has a population of 62.3 million, totaled 120.8 million across physical and digital formats, according to IFPI. That represents 1.93 albums per capita. Total album sales in Germany, meanwhile, which has a population of 82.3 million, stood at 109.3 million, equal to 1.32 albums per capita.
|
In that year, Germany's music industry had actually overtook the UK's in terms of how much it's worth, despite lower album sales because they generally sell way more physical copies & at higher prices. Even if they don't sell as many copies there, they can still end up making more money than they can with the equivalent UK sales.

Am I the only one who thinks she was really inspired by BEYONCÉ the album?

Listening for the first time now.
It's a nice album. The only standout is Only Human, I think it's one of those albums that sounds better in full.

On The Metro
But she already did those kind of songs on AML. Only Human is flawless as it is, and those kind of electronic driven dance songs would not really fit album, Only Human does have dance songs like I Dont Care, Stars, Live For Now and Its About Time, but they are less electronic with no EDM, they are more similar to Cheryl previous dance songs on 3 Words and MLR.

The album is really good. It really has more of an R&B vibe, like Cheryl said. A Million Lights was more pop.
Next time, I would love another Calvin Harris track and a Xenomania (+ Nicola Roberts) track).
Only Human is perfect.

Ok, let's play the chart prediction game. Where is Only Human going to chart considering the competition and how much is this going to sell considering the declining sales in the album market?
Her competition is:
- Pink Floyd (The Guardian published an article saying their album had +100k pre-orders and Amazon UK reported it's the most pre-ordered album ever in Amazon UK.)
- Foo Fighters (they usually sell +100k in the UK)
- Queen (GH, they have a primetime special show on ITV this Tuesday, today's X Factor theme is Queen and Michael Jackson)
- Sam Smith (He's performing on X Factor tomorrow)
- Ed Sheeran (He's like Adele when it comes to selling albums this year, #1 album this week beating Calvin Harris in Motion's release week).
So yes, I can see her charting at #5 or #6 and selling similar to Calvin Harris this week, around 30k.
