Fergie wants to fight "ISIS" and "Ebola" with chill vibes
Quote:

Fergie's first solo album, The Dutchess, came out way back in 2006. The singer and Black Eyed Peas frontwoman has now returned with a new solo single, "L.A. LOVE (La La)" -- the lead track from her upcoming album -- and she tells ABC Radio, "Mommy's ready to go out and have a good time!"
"It's just more of a call-out to the world, just to say, 'What's up?'" she says of the single that announces her return all around the world. "Just to have fun with everybody, just to remind people that, you know, I'm your girl and I'm back out to connect with you. And I just had to disconnect for a little bit to figure out how to be a mom and get that situated!"
"Now that I have that structure, I'm able to come back into the world of music and share that with everybody, and put that in my schedule and hopefully, we'll be on tour in a city near you next year!" she says.
The single, which features Fergie rapping and singing, doesn't have any serious message to it, and she says that's pretty much the point.
"I don't think that 'L.A. LOVE' is the song where you go on The Voice and you sing it for a vocal competition," she laughs. "It's just not that type of song. It's a more feel-good, 'Spread the Cali sunshine and chill vibes across the world,' to fight this craziness of ISIS and Ebola."
"Like, let's just all have a good time for a bit!" laughs the mother of little Axel Duhamel. "I know mommy's ready to go out and have a good time!"
According to Fergie, the video for "L.A. LOVE (La La)" will premiere this Sunday, and she says it's kind of insane, in a good way. It features her and a bunch of weirdos riding around in very special bus.
"I was inspired by the art cars at Burning Man festival," she tells ABC Radio. "They do these amazing designed vehicles and I kind of took inspiration from that and mixed it with a party bus -- 'cause there's these, like, star-sighting buses that go around L.A. -- and fuse that together. It's like this tricked out art bus. It's the 'L.A. LOVE' bus! And this is a vehicle that I thought, 'I want to take this all around L.A., around America, around the world.'"
As for the people on the bus with her, Fergie says, "It was just such a blast getting all these random people from L.A. that aren't supposed to be hanging out together, just randomly hanging out together and it all makes sense." She adds, "It represents the melting pot and the weirdo-ness of Los Angeles, but also the joy and the fun of it all, and spreading that love throughout, and you'll get that in this video."
Fergie says she'll incorporate elements from the video into her upcoming performance of the song on the American Music Awards on November 23. She also confirms that she's returning for yet another year of co-hosting Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC, and that she'll be performing as well.
