Why is that Freddie Mercury / Beyoncé thing being brought up? It was already clocked by showing some repetitive Queen lyrics, and Beyoncé wasn't saying that her music is all art and deserves to be paid for.. she was just used as an example. It's a bit different.
Who are we to judge what art is, everyones art is different - let an atrler try to write a hit no.1 song then and see if anyone would pay for their "art" - at the end of the day she worked hard and it was out of her creativity

However a song like Shake It Off, isn't going for artistic in it's simplicity. It's meant to SELL. It's not meant to be thought provoking. It's not Marcel's urinal which doesn't appear to be art but is actually saying something. Unless you want to say that Taylor is being basic on purpose.
You'd think people on a pop music forum would get it at least.
