Do you not know how the system works? I experienced this with my sister so let me explain. If Amanda who is over 18 does not want to take medication or go to rehab her parents CANNOT force her to. And if her parents try to institutionalize her then amanda will not only resent them but probably go after them legally in some way. They are in a tough situation. They can strip her of all of her rights and institutionalize her OR they can wait a little longer until she maybe comes around to wanting to help herself. All of you saying her parents are evil have no idea what its like to want to help a family member who is an adult that won't help themselves and worse, go after you for trying.
And QUITE FRANKLY after Amanda accused her father of molesting her as a child because he put her in rehab i would let her flounder and hit ROCK BOTTOM before i even THOUGHT about helping her again. Some of you are so naive
