I'm OK with Keith Urban, he gives me feeling of Georgy Strait generation of country musicians (Not about music which I love, but the good feeling about him )

Weeks in the T2 this decade:
Thrift Shop, Blurred Lines, Happy, We Found Love 14
Love the Way You Lie 13
Call Me Maybe 12
Shake it Off, All About that Bass, Locked Out of Heaven, One More Night, Fancy, California Girls, Somebody That I Used to Know 11
We Are Young, Roar, Sexy and I Know It, Rolling in the Deep, ET 10
It's pretty astounding that SIO/Bass have locked down the T2 for 10 of their weeks already (The only exceptions being the week before SIO was out, and when Anaconda edged out Bass.).
Assuming they do it again next week, they'll be in the T4 for solo-credited songs along with Carly and Pharrell.

I have to choose an important album and research its recording techniques, impact, chart history, and I have to write a paper on why it's an important album. OMG OMG OMG. I may sound delusional as everyone else picked The Dark Side of the Moon or Abbey Road etc.. but I'm about to show these hipsters why Taylor is the Queen of Pop and Music after I present it in two weeks. We also get to choose one song to play for the class. OOTW is my choice!
I need links to Jack's interviews about OOTW please
Here are some reasons I find it important, please fill me in with more:
She continues to display artistry and passion despite going full pop, and it's not disposable like some pop tarts' alberms
Unique recording techniques (Wildest Dream's heartbeat, OOTW's whole recording process, the wodden boards they stomped on [saw it duing the BTS video on iTunes when 1989 was first put up for preorder], etc..)
It's bringing attention to alberm sales again, especially the physical format, helping the industry
This era she is speaking out against free/cheap streaming, could be a movement
Any more???? I'm so hyped right now.
It's gonna be hard defending it because just since it's TS, I might get a lot of heat and it might not be considered groundbreaking enough or innovative, but I am damn sure I could have a very solid argument.Taylor has the artistry, passion, and a respect for music that cannot be denied.

You should definitely do it and if you get a chance film it/record the audio. I'd also mention the Secret Sessions. Taylor made such an effort to connect with the fans this era and I think that played a big part in the albums success. It's very difficult to make a personal connection when you have such a large fanbase but she did it. The Lord is so intelligent and self-aware

Yes i think it will be half pop half indie as her next transition

There's quite a few indie influences on Red and 1989 so it definitely seems viable. I hope she works with Jeff Bhasker again

New York Times article talking about Taylor's impact and Spotify dispute
Quote:
“This isn’t about turning the record business around,” said Lenny Beer, the editor of Hits Magazine, a mainstay of industry gossip, which was the first to note rumors of Big Machine’s sale. “This is about her. She’s the one, the magic one.”
The new album received ecstatic reviews,
the most effective piece of promotion may have been Ms. Swift’s own deft command of social media. On Twitter and Instagram, she excels as an authentic personality who establishes direct connections with her audience by doing things like reposting images of fans holding copies of her album, said Matt Britton, chief executive of MRY, a youth marketing agency that is part of the Publicis Groupe, the global advertising giant.
“She has been able to take one person and spread herself out into millions of itty-bitty pieces of Taylor Swift and touch as many people as possible,” Mr. Britton said. “When you do that, you generate a kind of advocacy and excitement that no level of advertising could.”

I'm not sure although Ozzy Osbourne said this about her
Quote:

'I have finally met somebody that I can say is a true superstar.' He said, 'She reminds me of Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn.' He called her the most magnificent young girl he's met in his lifetime. He was so blown away by her."

I'm really curious what her next album will be like. She's slayed hard in both Country and Pop, its not like she has to pick one to be more successful.
|
I think they will be accepting when She inevitably returns. All the country publications and artists that I've seen talking about 1989 have sounded supportive

You could probably mention about her always visiting those sick children in the hospitals but am not sure if it is related to your project but you could try.

Red had the trinity of State of Grace Treacherous and Holy Ground
the indie influences from Red to 1989 are comparable to Fearless to Speak Now's pop
the indie Red is coming

I think Taylor's personality really helps people relate to her as a person the same way they do her music. She could easily could cultivate some superhuman like persona like Beyonce but I think her just being her genuine self laughing at her old hairstyles and talking about watching marathons of Friends makes people like her more and see her as someone they could be friends with and not just someone to look up to.
