“I just did a little cameo in a Charli XCX video who is this young girl and I saw the video and frankly I thought the video was terrible. And I met the director and frankly - I don’t don’t know his name - he was pretty egotistical and dismissive and I didn’t really enjoy him and I thought ‘Well I’m doing you a favor but okay’ and then I see how he does it, it’s an eighteen-year-old and he’s panning lovingly across her ass. Piss off. That stuff’s so boring to me. [..] You could’ve told a story, you had three and a half minutes to tell a story. Whether it’s a vapid story or not you had three and a half minutes to explore something and you didn’t. I like to hold people accountable for that.”
I didn't see the camera continuously panning over her ass? lol. Also, if you didn't like the footage that was shot you could have just asked to remove yourself from the video?
You tried it Rose.
When you're filming a video for a song that goes "I don't wanna go to school, I just wanna break the rules... na na na na na na na na na na na na na" are you expecting a not vapid video? I mean I don't really like the video that much myself but she just sounds like she's complaining for the heck of it.
This hasn't been posted on ATRL before but this podcast has been out for around a month. I love Rose, but she's seriously misinformed here. Charli's not 18, and to be frank, considering the amount of nudity she showed in Doom Generation, it seems like artistic elitism to say one form of sexuality is intelligent while the other is objectifying.
