I agree with you. I was just pointing out to the left-wing lunatic that it is quite hypocritical for one to be so supportive of Islamic rights when it is direct contradiction with gay-rights considering he'd get stoned to death in many muslim countries. Let's not be that hypocrite.

Jameson was trying to point out that someone's religion does not dictate their character, and that there are many reasonable Muslim people, and many positive attributes to their faith. I mean, obviously the religious condemnation of gays is a huge problem though. I share your frustration that it does go unscrutinised by liberals who fear being torn apart and attacked by radicals.

I hope the guy sues them. Sorry but I'm living in one of the most catholic countries in the world and parents can choose here if they want their kids to go on religion. If parents don't want them to learn about religion then their kids go on ethics. Even if some texts from the Bible are mentioned at Polish lessons then they are discussed in a secular way, treated pretty much like a Greek mythology.

Only how a particular religion was created and purely historical events connected to that religion. Maybe symbols of religions like cross too. No one is teaching rules of religions outside of religion lessons which how I said aren't compulsory. My country is a secular country and this is guaranteed by the consitution. We are a post-communist country so for a very long time, there wasnt even a subject such as religion in schools, my mother went to church to learn basics of her faith.

I highly doubt that the school in question was actually teaching more than very basic religious information.

It's not bigoted to not teach religion.

It is bigoted to have a meltdown over Islam.... when they certainly covered a number of religions in addition to that.
