This has become more than annoying for me. The Credit Crunch is something that I never thought would affect me or annoy me, but recently it's been eating away at me. I know it's a Worldwide thing, but I haven't heard if it's affecting any other countries badly. I thought mainly of the United States first. Has any major high street stores shut down?

In the U.K. a list of these shops have been completley shut or stores have been cut around Britain, or over 1,000 jobs have been axed.

- Woolworth's (Completely shut)
- Mfi (Completely shut)
- Debenhams (Stores being shut, jobs being axed, still open in some cities)
- Next (Stores being shut, jobs being axed, still open in some cities)
- Honda (?)
- Zavvi (Being completely shut, too note, this store took over Virgin Megastores in only 2007)
- Adam's
- The Officer's Club

"Next" is getting shut as well? Don't know that.

It's not being shut. It wasn't getting the sales they hoped for over Christmas, so they have to close some high street stores and axe some jobs. I can live without Next, but if WH Smith shuts, Britain is over for me!

^ I don't know what they're calling it in the US, I think they're just going with Economic crisis, but the UK have just called it this, and that's how I know it.

The thing that scares me most is, my mum said it won't be over til' at least 2011. And God knows how bad it could get in that space of time. I mean my aunt is in her 60's and she is working in one of the stores I mentioned that is in crisis of shutting down. She could lose her job. And in the coming years, this could go from stores to people's houses being repossesed which they have said. This could affect the eldery which is something that worries my a lot, because I said to my Gran and Grandad that they would never ever be put into an Old Folks Home. I'm more worried about the future and how the politicians plan on sorting this out. This could dramatically affect the Whole World.

I think things will get worse before they get better. I think that has to be expected because thus far there has been little sign of recovery, so for that reason I don't mind because I'm hopeful that things will return to the way they once were. There is no guarantee it will Do your grandparents have a mortgage? This is changing the whole world, but a changing world is the cause of it in the first place in my opinion.

That's why we all need to stop whatever we're doing on Saturday's and watch Suze Orman.
