I actually spent some time in Asia, particularly in China. People don't see foreigners over there very often, so they act a bit astounded and starstruck when they see someone of a different race/ethnicity because it's a rare sight. I am a Hispanic male, and I was actually stopped several times on my travels, particularly in larger cities, and asked if I could pose for pictures with them, and I always obliged; I didn't mind at all and thought it was kinda cute how they treated foreigners and travelers (in opposition to other nations who proclaim to "bring your huddled masses," but instead, turn them away at the border or build walls to keep them out, but I digress...)
I did have several Chinese students, however, tell me that racism against black people is common in Asia, because they perceive them to be "shifty/sketchy." I was extremely disappointed when I heard this, but apparently, that form of racism is very common in that region. I can't speak more aptly on this subject; however, it seems like this racism is more common among middle-aged and older generations, not the younger generations, which is a relief.
