People calling her greedy need to do some research. She doesn't have a reason to be greedy, she makes plenty. It's the other people involved in the creation of the album that make no money from spotify, and they deserve to.....they don't get to make up for it with merch, touring, endorsements etc like the artist does. Their only source of income is sales, and its not fair that they're losing so much due to streaming services making music free.

No. No they don't actually. This is a real problem. Maybe not for big people like Taylor or Gaga or Katy because they will sell a ton regardless, but for the majority of the music industry, Spotify is complete and utter hell. They're literally giving you the work they spent months or maybe years on for FREE.

Do you realize that smaller or new artists that you might "discover" on Spotify will probably never get a payout for any of your streams? How would you feel if you made $0.007 per hour? That's pretty much what happens with any artist on Spotify who isn't a superstar.

There's no way that's fair and if you think it is then I feel really sorry for you, and I hope you one day have to deal with not getting paid for your hard work.

What if every artist left spotify omg that would force people to use iTunes (or download illegally and export to your music on iTunes) but the average iPhone user has time for that. She betta return the music industry back to normal. Queen of music

The fact that people think that this is going to increase her sales. If it isn't on Spotify, everyone is just going to go back to downloading it illegally. Nobody is going to pay for music anymore. That era is over. Taylor doing this is not going to stop anything. It's just going to close off her music to more people, which she probably doesn't care about because she already has millions of dollars.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't a lot of underground/buzzy artists make a decent amount from Stotify streams? Tens of thousands adding up if they have multiple songs with a few million hits racked up. There are countless independent artists on Spotify who have many millions of streams, I'm not sure if they would see that kind of action on their music though traditional sales.
