That's some quote. It's also incredibly false when it comes to packaged mainstream artists. Sometimes you get artists who overvalue their art (e.g., ARTPOP). It doesn't matter if you think it's good. It matters what others think, and it's been my observation that I've never enjoyed every single track from any album I've listened to. I have about six or seven favorite songs per album; the rest I don't use. I can't see myself paying for an entire album. I'd prefer to stream.

Ugh, I pay for my spotify subscription for a reason. Spotify is the only money I spend on muzik, I ain't buying albums

It pisses me off so much since I loved listening to Taylor's music and if other artists follow her lead my experience with music will be less satsfactory, since I don't have the money to buy all the music I would like at its current price ( albums are too expensive!) , but I get her point and what other artists might say, the record labels need to sort this out

I still buy albums when I really like the artist but I don't care much for Taylor Swift so if Spotify didn't exist, I would illegally download whatever songs I want to hear from her. Because of Spotify, I don't have to download music illegally, and artists I normally wouldn't support still make some money.

I don't know how much artists actually make from Spotify but I oay $10 a month for premium, and if that's not enough for artists to make a fair amount of money, I would honestly pay $15-20 a month for Spotify. It's really amazing.

I'm pretty sure that Scott is the one making this choice and it kind of makes sense for where he is now.

There are really only a handful of artists who are at their absolute peak, where it could make sense to withhold most or all of their music.
Taylor, Beyonce (in part) and perhaps a few others.

Of course, once she is past her peak she will be back, because then the rights holders want the streaming income from the back catalogue.
