You call Taylor greedy???. Well, go and speak with your boss, tell him you are not greedy so he can pay you 1 dollar per hour, because you are not greedy.
I'd be ok if my boss paid me $1/hour if I already was worth $50 million.
Not to mention ESPECIALLY if I made better money elsewhere (touring, etc.)

Plus Beyonce album is not available on Spotify. Oh what fools Taylor, Beyonce and Adele are. No-one will ever buy their albums without every listening to it first on Spotify. I am sure it is just a coincidence that they are the three highest selling female album artists in recent years.
Why are people acting as if Spotify is the only income for these indie artists? We've always known touring is where the most money comes from and touring isn't going anywhere ever.
I do agree the free version should go though. It was alright years ago (I used it until they put a cap on it with limited song listens/limited listening time per month and then upgraded to Unlimited) but with them blowing up so much I think payment is a necessity. At £5/£10 a month for all that music, no one can really be upset by having to pay.
of course she'd do this. SIO wasn't on Spotify until weeks later and it sold 400+ 1st week. The same is happening to 1989 which is about to break Britney's record. Taylor is doing what she thinks is right
i remember when prince was criticized a lot for banning all his music to be played on youtube and now people are defending swift's decision to take all of her music from spotify?

spotify is great for consumers, but for artists it's not good. you are the one being greedy and selfish with musicians that win less than a dollar for months, maybe years of work, This is not about Taylor, this is about the industry in general.

It's a known fact that artists don't make much money off of sales though. It's about the exposure, endorsements and concerts that make them money. CD sales are becoming dead.
Someone like Taylor Swift can pull this off. There won't be a following of other artists though cause streaming is now part of the big picture. That's just how I see it.
