I decided to make this thread because I have often wondered why the role models of today are considered "role models"

The introduction of the internet not only changed the world of social media but it changed the way impressionable young people connect with their fave star, It gave them more access to communication, it have them a direct route to their fave and sometimes the behaviour of these people are not the best for a young impressionable mind.

Rather than list stars with poor behaviour and create tensions, I'm going to explain why Madonna is the ultimate role mode. You don't need to love her or even like her to agree with what she represents.

The world of celebrity is a breeding ground for mental illness, meltdown and scandal. How does one protect them self?

- Madonna's work outs are the epitome of health and fitness.
Madonna works out 6-7 days a week without fail. She could be doing anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes of strength training, 30 to 60 minutes of movement -- Pilates or yoga -- and then add on to that four to eight hours a day of rehearsal. (rehersal applies only while on tour)


- Madonna's diet is the epitome of health.

- Madonna has never fallen victim to Mental Illness.
Whilst mental illness is not by any means a choice for the majority of people that suffer from one, there are things you can do to avoid symptoms. Those things, are listed above. Exercising and eating right are key in not only battling things like depression but preventing them.

- Madonna has never fallen victim to celebrity.
Whist Madonna has created several scandals she has never herself been involved in an unintentional career damaging scandal like a sex tape.

- Madonna has never fallen victim to addiction.
Madonna has never been sent to rehab, she has never had an addiction problem. Whist, addiction is a disease and by no means can we blame an addict we need to remember that the first two points go back to preventing and combating addiction.

-Madonna stands for hard work and self respect.
It's no secret that over the years Madonna has left an imprint of self respect on this world. She has been singing about it and fighting for it for 30 years. It's also no secret that Madonna works hard for what she has, countless stars that have worked with her for a fraction of time always say how she pushes them to her limit.

- Madonna has never had a public melt-down.
It seems like when a famous person hits a certain level of fame you can almost predict that a meltdown will occur. It's happened to several prominent figures in pop culture and in some cases even resulting in their deaths. Madonna manages to avoid the incessant need of the public to invade the privacy of a celeb

To summarise.

Here, we have a woman whom has never faced mental health issues, whom has never faced addiction issues, whom stands for self respect, works hard, eats right and exercises daily.

Take a step away from your stan bubbles and ask yourself who you would want your children (should you want children) looking up to as they grow up.

Madonna is the ultimate role model.

In general I'd want my children looking up to someone who didn't have it all together but eventually did, to show them things can get better and they can make it through.

I'm not gonna lie but none of these bitches can come close to Madonna when it comes to work ethics and professionalism.

Fair point but I'd like my kids to have it already sorted so they didn't need to go through the "not together" parts

I mean,I guess living a healthy lifestyle and treating yourself right are values we all want to not only hold, but pass on.

I think every parent would want that, but then again you never know what would happen.

can't imagine myself becoming so strong and life-affirming when growing up without a mom.

Her massive and undisputable success over 30 + years is not only a reflection of her talent but also of her strengh as a person. Always working hard as if it was day 1 and she had not achieved anything in life.
This applies to all areas of her life ....
Just the way she keeps on rehearsing every single day while she's on tour is mindblowing (even more so when you think that before the tour actually starts she had been working on it for around 3 + months) .
Then , people ask why she's so top notch and for so damn long ? Because she works hard like no one else does and NEVER basks in her own spotlight or legacy or whatever ....

For all of those thinking that having 1 or 2 successful tours or 1 or 2 huge albums or even several #1's or Top 10's are the key to be considered a Major artist , try to learn about Madonna's personal story and the way she 'reads' superstardom : the key to longevity is an endless inner strengh and resiliency !

I don't even dislike her but she FAMOUSLY, in fact infamously, SLEPT her way into the music industry in the 80s. This is a known fact. How on earth can you call her a role model? The standards on ATRL... wow.
