Just because you think it's ok and fun and you finally get to be one of "the others" without having to deal with the negative stereotypes that come with it, does not mean it's not offensive to other people of that race. And no, meeting one or two people of that race who aren't offended by your garb does not automatically make it ok either.
There's thousands upon thousands of other great costumes we can choose for Halloween, why does everyone obsess over the ones that make a mockery of other people? Just stop dressing as other races. It's never worked out in the past and it's not going to work out in the future. Go dress as a damn pumpkin or something.
And I can't at people in here who are not of Arab descent acting like they actually have a say in whether Arabs should offended by this.

You act like this is akin to murder or rape
I did not choose to be born white. Just as no one chooses to be born Chinese, Black, Arab, etc. Why am I nor anyone else allowed to appreciate other cultures, and want to emulate what we appreciate? I can wear a Dracula costume, even though I am not German/Austrian, but I can't wear a Saudi Arabian Prince's outfit?

Does this mean only Arab people can be Jasmine or Aladdin on Halloween? Only Chinese people can be Mulan?
If I want to wear Native American headgear, that's my choice and my prerogative. Just as anyone can wear "white" clothing, "pilgrim" clothing if they so choose. The world is so damn globalized these days, I am shocked that people would still be so pressed at borrowing of culture, when we share technology, photographs, literature, and art with each other every single damn second.
if you are offended, then go ahead and live politically correctly, but don't tell me what I can or cannot do.
