I personally feel like it's a defense mechanism of some homosexuals, who need to convince themselves that being attracted to the same sex is okay and that they wouldn't want to be a heterosexual because it has more cons than pros, such as being boring. Kind of like the cliche scenario of a few unpopular kids making up reasons they don't want to be popular when they secretly yearn for the acceptance and comfort of said social group.
It's stupid because any argument a homosexual can make saying heterosexuality is boring can also be made about homosexuality.
