I have never been the type who is afraid of a dark room at night, I remember when I had sleepovers when I was younger and when people would have to sleep with the night light on and I couldnt say sh*t cause i was the one sleeping in their room, I hated it so much
I need full darkness and my white noise machine on. I cant sleep in dead silence either.
How do you prefer your surroundings when sleeping in terms of light and noise/fans?
Yes, as dark as I can possibly get it. I make sure the hall light is off so no light shines through the bottom of my door. I unplug my TV so the light will go away and I cover the light on my laptop with books or clothes because even that tiny little light on my electronics bugs the crap out of me. I keep a fan on even if it's not hot because I cannot stand sleeping in silence. Basically I want it to be dark and noisy.
I like sleeping with a box fan on though. The noise is very relaxing as my childhood was full of it when we were too poor to afford air conditioners in the summertime .
Although these days I try to turn everything off to be environmentally better
I used to have to sleep in pitch black and I couldn't ever take a nap during the day because of the natural light but my boyfriend always slept with a lamp on so when he moved in I got used to it and now I can't sleep in the dark at all.
I sleep with my TV and lamp on, I know complete darkness freaks me out, it's eerie like in a movie before something happens I can't get to sleep without something in the background either which is why I leave the TV on, it actually helps
It has to be pitch black with my window open and my fan going on full blast. It has to be freezing cold on top of being pitch black for me to get to sleep.
