I don't think there is an issue idolizing marilyn. It's just an issue of balance. I think the poster is refferring to everyone fawning over these celebrities, yet not being educated on women who have impacted the world largely in other fields outside hollywood.

Bu then again, there are people in the world who pretend the Holocaust never happened, so...

Madonna is certainly a legend and, in my opinion, the most legendary female artist of all time. But does she fit into the top ten most legendary women EVER? Even as a stan, I don't think so.
