Ryan Murphy on the different seasons of 'American Horror Story': 'They're all connected'
So you’re saying that season four is connected to season one?
They’re all connected. We’re just beginning to tell you how they’re connected. They’re all very separate but there’s clues every season that we’re now telling you how the different worlds are intertwined.
I suppose somebody from the Asylum could have been connected to the Murder House and I bet the Roubachuses Coven for witches was designed by the same ex-carnie from Freak Show
didn't the Murder House get mentioned in Asylum? By the couple who had sex in the most haunted locations? Or nah. Because if not then that should be mentioned tbh.
ddd bye. Having Pepper in this season (and having Lily Rabe stop by soon as Mary Eunice, I heard?) is a fun sort of easter egg, but trying to draw real connections between the seasons? AHS has a hard enough time creating a coherent narrative across one season, forget about multiple generations and sets of mythology.
It's impossible to make a connection between all the seasons without implying that there are characters who look identical like all Jessica Lange's characters being the same person and so on.
Stupid. Unless all the characters are vampires (since the actors look the same no matter what time the season takes place) and have multiple personality disorders than this won't work. You can't have a bunch of people who all look the same existing in the same universe.
So pretty much he's deciding only now that they're connected and is just going to reach to make it seem like the first few seasons have anything to do with each other?
If a soap opera or whatever can replace an actor with somebody else and have nobody notice that the person looks entirely different (the only exception to this I know of is when Becky was replaced with a new actress and Roseanne pointed it out) then why can't they be somehow connected? AHS isn't about the actors, it's about the characters and the setting. You don't hear anybody on the show saying "Bette and Dot are the same person! That's ONE actress playing her!" Because it's fiction.

You guys are reading way too much into this with the appearances, stop
lol @ everyone having issues with the same actors playing different characters.
"HOW CAN THERE BE FOUR WOMEN WHO LOOK LIKE JESSICA LANGE RUNNING AROUND?"
Because they are characters, it's a story. How we see them is how they're being portrayed. These characters could look like virtually anyone.
Where is all this backlash when characters in TV or movie series have to be recast?
If you had no problem believing Katie Holmes and Maggie Gyllenhaal playing the same character in The Dark Knight series, then you're OCD minds can't just start complaining about these type of things now.
