That should actually be an incentive for them to promote the album, as they know they'll make it back from the tour AND possibly get a few extra albums shifted.

Madonna's the one who doesn't seem as interested, especially seeing as she is the one who ultimately pays for the promotion. She may be content to just make all the money she wants on tour, as opposed to doing a big promo tour. The Superbowl was her way of going about that the last time, I think, except it was never going to do what she wanted it to.

But yeah, she'll never have the same money behind her that she had at Warner. She was their star for 25 years.

She was their most successful artist. Their profits were directly impacted by the success of her albums. Under Livenation they just release the 1st single and then go straight on tour to make hundreds of millions. Even a very successful record nowadays does not make any money. Also, Livenation is not a label so sometimes I am worried they do not know how to push an album.
