Im so mad, my headphones broke in on ear and require me to wiggle the wires around to work and hold it there and im so mad. why cant the wires be made of metal so they dont break like wtf i paid 40$ for them to break every three months im so mad
I feel like if you wrap the wires around your device or whatever they might go out sooner. That's why I try to keep the wires straight all the time. Even when not in use. I might have to untangle them all the time, but it's better than always getting new ones.
Sure, we have the technology for panty hose that will never run, or a tire that would never go flat... but making the quality only enough to last for a limited period of time is a great chance for future sales.

i dont do that though i always unplug them from my device and keep them straight as possible.. it just makes me mad literally every 3 months they break and i have to buy another 40$ pair of headphones
I don't know, but they need to stop. Mine usually go out every 6 months - a year, and it's always the left one, followed by the right one a week later.
Nowadays, I always try to keep a back up, out of fear my current ones will just stop working.
They are engineered to break so that consumers are forced to continually buy new headphones. Just one of the many ways our capitalist society perpetuates consumerist ideology tbh.

sAME!!!!!!! Its always the left then right, and it always happens at the worst times too... and i cant go a day without listening to music so i have to go get some.
Do you have the opportunity to buy a warranty? I bought $40 headphones with a 1 year protection plan for an addition $5. The first time they broke, they replaced them with no problem. They just broke a few weeks ago, so I called, and the company is sending me a gift card (as the specific brand of headphones is no longer produced).

!
I agree. Everything I do involves music, whether it's homework, cleaning, writing, etc. It's a big part of my life. It keeps me sane also, cause sometimes I just wanna snap.

i have had these $20 sony mdr-zx100 from walmart and it has lasted for more than a year, i use them on my desktop microphone, but are still very portable.
You pay $40 for headphones you know will eventually break? What even is the point? I swear I bought a pair of knock-off Beats on a whim while I was in Cyprus a couple years back for like €6 and they've turned out to be the best headphones I've ever had. Better sound quality than literally any other pair of headphones I've ever owned (including real Beats which I returned after 48 hrs because they broke) and they've had no other issues in the whole time I've owned them.
I have beats by dre ear buds and just the other day, I tried them and it sounds like they are singing through a tunnel its so annoying. The weird part is its only the verses?
