I've been listening to J-pop since I was like born, my first exposure was Pizzicato Five (Shibuya-kei). Fast forward present day, Namie Amuro is still going strong. I wasn't a big fan of Amuro in the beginning, but the "PAST < FUTURE" era made me a fan. "Brighter Day" sounds great.

I've been listening to "EXODUS" a lot, its now my favourite Utada album of all time. I was only a child when the album came out, but listening to it again as an adult, its amazing. Lots of New Wave (Kremlin Dusk in particular), R&B and Electronic influence, with some Asian instrumentals (those strings and drums on "Devil Inside" and "You Make Me Want To Be A Man"). Utada's a genius.

Exodus is probably her most consistent album, every song is so good. Her other albums all have at least one weak track.

The entire "EXODUS" album can be performed on any music festival circuit in Europe and North America, she would fit right in with the alternative artists or rock bands, if Utada did that she would've gained a lot of underground or indie following.

I'm listening to "You Make Me Want To Be A Man" right now, it would be awesome if it was performed live with a rock band. UGH! Missed opportunity .

I don't understand why PAST < FUTURE is so acclaimed.

To me it's her worst album. I haven't been able to sit through the whole thing since I first listened to it.
