Yes when a boy & girl are always together it usually means they're actually a couple. When you see him always together with a guy let me know.
That's not always the case Two people can hang out without being romantically involved. I'm not saying that he's gay, I'm just saying that they're not dating. He's referred to her as a friend multiple times and they have never shown any affection in public He's done this with other costars as well.

They've just never have given any type of indication that they're dating. Always being together and that picture doesn't prove anything at all. He's referred to her as her "bestie" and said that he's single on several occasions. Until they announce it themselves, there is no reason to believe that they are dating. Isn't she rumored to have another boyfriend anyway?
Platonic relationships still exist. There is nothing wrong with him being friends with any of these women OR gay men that he's been photographed with multiple times.
