How on earth can the Catholic Church be filled with thousands of scientists in its ranks and be against science at the same time? That's just stupid talk.

This myth that the Catholic Church is against science is only perpetuated by atheists. For example, whenever I see a science program conducted by atheist scientists they always exclude that the big bang theory was proposed by Georges Lemaitre because he happened to be a priest.

The Catholic Church believed, accepted and taught Big Bang and Evolution for decades. The proponents of both scientific theories were both Catholics, one was even a priest.

One of my classes, which is basically the Philosophy of Science, has made it clear to me that there is not and should not be any conflict between evolution and religion. The Catholic Church has supported evolution for years. Pope John Paul II released an official statement about it in 1996. Other Fundamentalist Christian religions, like those in The Bible Belt of America, do not have a stance like this. So, in fact, the RCC is ahead of them in this regard.

However, as usual, we hear the loud people of society more often, because they want to make their anti-evolution viewpoint known.

Pope John Paul II agreed with this in 1996, and a prior Pope in the 1950s suggested that it was correct!

That's not what he said. He means adapting acts of divine creation (archaic views) to modern scientific theories to make the former seem infallible and credible.

Well if that's what he means, then I disagree? The question of how and why we are here will always be debated, and as long as it's debated there will always be the side that believes in a creator. Why, because people like me will think that the idea that we and the universe came from nothing simply makes no sense.

If we who are mortal ants compared to the whole universe can make life happen, make another being exist then why is it archaic and silly to believe that a far more superior being than us can make life in general as we know it happen?

And besides, atheism is an ancient belief as well. It's not some modern concept. So yeah, no sense.
