taylor always does this though. i'm not sure what's so special about the 1989 era except the (possible) extra weeks at #1 for shake it off. or is it the fact that it's the third platinum opening week? i think that's very impressive and worth celebrating. i see why people would bandwagon for that.

RED seemed to be her peak era in terms of sales and quality. at least that's what i've gathered from her fans and their reactions to the music. as a casual bystander that seemed like the quintessential taylor era.


also, i agree with the people saying that her fans love TAYLOR regardless of the music. they love her "honesty" and her writing. so people will stick with her no matter what the music sounds like. she'll have to do something super egregious to lose her fanbase. they go hard af. i mention all of that to say that you'd have to be delusional to think that the production on 1989 is extraordinarily better/different than katy's, or anyone who works with max martin/does "generic" pop. if you believe that, your stan goggles are on super tight.
