Hugamari reviews - 1989
Tracks 1-11
1. Welcome to New York - Well it's exceeded expectations...I expected guitars and there weren't. Only really positive thing I can say about it. I personally feel like there was a lack of breakdowns, autotune, and vocal glitches; will rightfully assume that the whole album will lack these qualities, and that will drag the whole album down. (6.5/10)
2. Blank Space - WHAT KIND OF SMASH?! THIS SOUNDS SO FRESH!!...for 2008. Pretty dated sounding Natasha Bedingfield would do a good job with it methinks. (5/10)
3. Style - Even though I am grading more harshly since this has been hailed as the best thing since sliced bread, I would've gave this song a solid 9...if the whole song was as good as the verses. The chorus ruined it for me. (7.5/10)
4. Out of the Woods - Most uneventful song of the album so far. Left little-to-no impression on me. Will forget what it sounds like by the time the album is done. (5/10)
5. All You Had To Do Was Stay - Can't remember this song enough to give an opinion. (5.5/10)
6. Shake It Off - Legit the best song from this album so far, not that it says much. (8/10) (Being generous here)
8. Bad Blood - This could've been the best song on the album, but her over-pronunciation of words, some nonsensical lines (like the band-aids don't fix bullet holes and still got scars on my back from where you stabbed me - which is it Taylor? Did Katy stab you or shoot you? Keep your metaphors consistent. Katy's writing teas.), and annoying vocal delivery dragged this song down. (7/10)
9. Wildest Dreams - It was calming...but extremely forgettable. I actually already forgot how it went. (5.5/10)
10. How You Get The Girl - This is the song everyone is obsessing over? I expected much more from this. (6/10)
11. This Love - Wow...my eyes physically felt heavier through the duration of this song. (4/10)
12. I Know Places - I was actually kind of living at the beginning of this song! It's my favorite so far, and if I had to choose a song from this album to keep in my iTunes, it'd be this one. I loved the use of her vocals as part of the instrumental. The chorus was underwhelming, but I've grown to expect that from this album. (8.5/10)
13. Clean - This Love part 2... (4/10)

Just finished my first shift as an (intern) travel agent. It was so much fun!
I got to book a flight for three ladies- they let me choose the seats and everything.
