urban is an umbrella term for hip hop and R&B
a type of music is a genre
rhythmic radio is basically pop radio with more urban music

thanks for the explanation. someone was asking a song's spins on Hip Hop radio. They thought Urban is something else.

Well there are various urban radio formats. Urban, rhythmic, R&B, adult R&B, rap, etc.
