Wait ... but even in these tough economic times, album sales are what keep people signed to record labels - not single sales. It's pretty telling that Jordin (or, as I like to call her, heifer) has had all this "single success" but still can't manage to sell 1 million in her most successful territory. PEOPLE DON'T CARE ENOUGH.

I love me some Jordin, but this is absolutely true.

Wait to see how she rules the top of the album charts with her sophomore album. This single success is helping her be more known. When she releases her first single off her sophomore album, if successful, she will definitely RULE them.

Um...no. You're comparing a year old album to a new artist who just came out six weeks ago.

Yeah, but 2008's sales were so made of fail that even just being close to platinum is pretty much enough to save an artist's butt right now...not that many people are doing better, frankly. '08 was rough. That said, I think Jordin is going to have a kind of JoJo like career. Not huge, but not a flop, always just brushing the platinum mark.

January is going to be a killer, but with it being pretty much the end of her album cycle, maybe her sales will not drop as much as those who are at the top of the chart (or on the chart at all).

All this said...I do agree, no more Jordin threads until she actually HITS the platinum mark, please?

And the record companies have to be making some money off of the singles, enough to keep an artist who has 3 platinum hits.

Jordin's album experienced really bad sales and really good singles and was signed to JIVE. David has experienced really good album sales but radio isnt taking to his singles and he signed to RCA!
