Not really getting how he's either "creepy" or an asshole. Possessive, maybe, but there's also some self-awareness on his part. The narrator is clearly conscious of the fact that he's probs doing a bit much.
I mean the girl he's singing about is ostensibly his girlfriend, so it's really not all
that unreasonable that he'd get "hellish" toward someone trying to take her from him. It's not like he's taking it out on her, either.
