The first big-name concerts of 2015 will be staged at MGM Grand Garden Arena, as Justin Timberlake is booked to perform on Jan. 1 and 2 to close out “The 20/20 Experience World Tour.”
Timberlake’s shows will be directed and recorded by Jonathan Demme, who won an Oscar for “The Silence of the Lambs” and also directed “Philadelphia” and “Rachel’s Getting Married.” Demme also was the director of the great Talking Heads concert film “Stop Making Sense.”
The Timberlake performance is intended to serve as a concert film produced by Gary Goetzman (“Mamma Mia!,” “Stop Making Sense,” “25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert”).
