Do you guys think that you need a college minor? Or is it unnecessary? Should I use my free electives on multiple disciplines instead?

I added an art history minor to my Political Science degree cause I like it.
But I'm probably going to drop it and just take random electives, its easier to boost my GPA and fit in a schedule.

I am leaning towards random electives at this point, too.

What would be a good minor for a finance major? Like what would impress employers the most? More math or should I do something like psychology?

I feel like math or accounting would be good. Anything to do with numbers. It also depends on what you plan to do with your finance degree. I would more research though.

This is my problem too! I am leaning towards either accounting or economics as my major, but there are so many options, that I'm not sure 100%.

I'm a Molecular Biology major with an Asian Studies minor . Minors aren't actually useless, it's very good and will definitely enhance your resume when looking for jobs. If you show you're multifaceted employers will eat that up and will want to hire you simply because they know you aren't a one trick pony. The thing with my minor is that not only am I encompassig so many types of classes with it (for example Japanese, East Asian Religion, etc) but I'm getting internships I need for my major because they like the dedication I show and said speaking an Asian language will be even more helpful than having a science minor with a science major.

So do whatever you like for a minor that you couldn't do with your major.

I was thinking of Economics too. It's all so frustrating and difficult, ugh. Idek what I want to be, but def not an accountant. If I majored in either Accounting or Finance would I get pigeonholed to being into one?

I was talking to my accounting professor yesterday, and she said that an accounting major would give you a strong base to do many things in business, not just accountancy!

I think it's important. My major is Business and my minor is Accounting. I chose accounting because it's perhaps the most important aspect of running a business. You can't keep a business running if you have no idea if you're making money or losing it.
