News: DHS Sorcerer's Hat to be Removed

Along with the closure of The Legend of Jack Sparrow, Disney's Hollywood Studio's current icon, the Sorcerer's Hat will be demolished in early 2015. Spokesman Bryan Malenius announced the news earlier today. Studio's icon will go back to the Earful Tower. With the testing of FP+ only TSMM, the closure of Studio Backlot Tour, and now Jack Sparrow, is something major coming to Studios? The last day you can experience The Legend of Jack Sparrow is November 6th.

They should just make that area a navigation hub and make the water tower the park icon again.

I'm can't wait for Backlot Tour to go, there's so much they can do with it, in terms of expansion.

It already closed.

Also I feel like Frozen isn't coming to DHS, or it will be part of a larger expansion. They're adding a new (actually probably remodeled) Frozen ride in Epcot. lbr Frozen attractions should be in Fantasyland, but I get why they would want to spread out the Frozen attraction.

It's been rumored for a while now that they're putting in a Star Wars area in DHS. I expect that more considering there's a new Star Wars movie coming next year.

I feel (and am hoping) that For the First Time in Forever will be taking over the vacated American Idol venue; not sure if it would be permanent, but I can see it taking residence for an extended period of time. The show has been bringing in some strong crowds and had been well-received. That's really about it though- I don't see them bringing a whole slew of Frozen stuff there, certainly not any type of "Frozen land" or anything like that.

Ugh I'm so annoyed with this still. Norway's Maelstrom is so cute and Frozen is overrated.

I love how we talk so much about Disney World on here, since I'm only like 3 hours from it(and have annual passes there.) The hat is iconic, but I was so young whenever the hat was added. I cant wait to see the view without the hat in person. I've seen the view in old pictures online, and aaaaaah it's incredible.

I'm so excited about this huge revamp at HS. Great Movie Ride's getting revamped to include newer films, Pixar Place and Star Wars land both appear to be getting expansions. Star Wars takes over Streets of America, Pixar takes over the Backlot space.

Now I just need a total overhaul of EPCOT's Future World. Universe of Energy is outdated and exhausted, and Innovations remains a total waste of space. Pretty sure that the old Wonders of Life building is still sitting there empty as well.

I believe it is taking over the AI venue, but not permanently. I think it will be torn down to make way for Star Wars.

I hope Star Wars doesn't take over the Muppets though. There was like no one in there last time I went though. Maybe it could be updated?
