I have said in the past that Stefani created Gaga the persona, just like gamers creating World of Warcraft characters as replacements of their boring/lacklustering/unsuccessful life. When her persona became successful, she tried to live 24/7 as her persona and forget/delete her former self called Stefani. The catch is when even her persona/character failed her, how low must she be feeling?
Raging/meltdowning like a gamer?
It's sad and I hope she finds true happiness.

That's a nice anecdote, and I do know that it's true sometime, but sometimes medicine does help and can greatly improve the quality of a person's life or even save it.
Side effects is still statistics. It can be improving, but it can also be numbing or keep someone in a "permanent happy" state to not be a danger to society. When there is no quality of life improving drug for that person available, they select something that "knock someone out" to ensure he/she isn't a danger to society. It's natural that doctors and society want to stay safe. After all it's personality altering stuff.

She's not strong enough for the music industry. Really interesting when she came out, she was all about bragging about how she mastered "fame" and how she knew the industry.
She needs a break.
Reminds me of a movie quote: "Those who knows kung fu don't talk about it, it's those who doesn't are talking about it all the time.".
I didn't believe her and it became quickly visible that one of her peers masters "fame", public opinion, morale in her team,... like a great leader (and still doesn't brag about it) and can get away with murder.
I take medication as well, it's very brave of her to admit it.
People tend to look at a person differently because of it, finding happiness in whatever you are doing helps.
I hope she is in a better place.
She needs a break from the industry. There is a rarity in the amount of success and fame she achieved so quickly and to have the world turn on you must screw with your head

TBH. People are really so nasty. She works so tirelessly on so many things, and people tear her down for any error or problem with any of her numerous things. Like Gaga's hair yesterday, everyone was quick to post similiar-ish Madonna pics and it's just like stop . It's pretty hard to craft a new and original look every single day of her whole life, which seems to be what she's going for.

She sets herself up by creating such expectations and a high maintenance brand.

Of course she's gonna set high expectations, and if she doesn't - her label will. Pop careers thrive off hype - you know damn well she has little choice but to go with it now.
Why would she come out and say this between songs in a tour that she advertises as a rave to have fun at?
I hope she's not just being flippant because this is a serious matter for a lot of people and not just something edgy to flaunt around.
If you had taken a minute to actually read the thread instead of cherrypicking for whatever little tidbit of information you need to exaggerate and bash her for, then you would've already seen the reason

I was there tonight - she invited a fan up on stage after the fan threw her a letter (which she read out), with the fan saying how she was bipolar and gaga's music helped her through the tough times and how she didn't feel normal and embarrassed that she was taking medication.
Gaga basically said that people need to treat mental health as a serious illness, and not for the fan for worry about taking medication or not feeling normal, which is when Gaga admitted that she takes medication every day.

So it was about showing her fan that she is just like her. I see.
To recap: Germanotta has now got a mental illness, along with lupus, bulimarexia, and having been a cocaine addict, raped and bullied.
WOW. The struggle this girl has gone through is sometimes hard to believe.

We know you won't believe anything that comes out of her mouth, it's cool but if you think about it for a second being raped and bullied could result into all of those things, she would not be the first one to struggle after such events.
Some members are just showing their ass yet again. Color me surprised.
My mom was diagnosed with depression and my brother in-law is bipolar. Mental illness is nothing to joke about, and once you witness that stuff or experience it for yourself you see how serious it is. Sometimes it goes much deeper than just ~changing your outlook~, or going to the GNC for supplements.
Also those saying she should "take a break": a steady schedule to keep her busy might actually good for her, as well as doing something therapeutic like songwriting.
I'm glad she shared this. It's good for more and more people to be open about this because there's still such a huge stigma about it (as evidenced by all the ignorance in this thread).
Didn't she just say she felt the happiest she's ever been?
and from what i know, people who are depressed don't do world tours and sing pop songs with fans. But I do think she may be slightly depressed. Probably a mild form of it. But so are a lot of famous people who've had it so much worse than her.
