I just learned that I have a transmission
leak in my 1989 corvette. It is loosing a lot
of fluid just sitting doing nothing over a
couple of days (about 3). I noticed it when
it did not shift properly about a week or 2
ago. I put in some new fluid and it worked
fine for the 2-3 times after that. Then I
filled it up again and the next time I went
to drive it (yesterday) it was just barely at
the bottom of the dipstick when I had it at
the full mark before that.
I do not have any lifts or ramps to use
sadly for a couple of days, so I can not
easily find where the leak is. Does anyone
have any tips on where to check for leaks,
or any ways to easily find it without a lift
or ramps? I can see under the car, but not
well. I can tell there is some kind of leak by
a little puddle in my rock driveway, but can
not tell exactly what it is. Maybe if I knew
where to look I could feel around under the
car and find some fluid and the spot it is
leaking from.
Transmission is a 700R4 with 80,xxx miles
on it.
Any and all help is appreciated!
If you need anymore information or details
then please let me know.
Thanks.
