She DID backtrack though. She said her words were "lost in translation", that is backtracking to a certain extent. I don't think the second part of her original statement was aimed at Beyoncé, only the first part. She was most likely asked another question between those and the publication didn't put it in to make the story juicier.

She didn't change her original statement at all. She just said it CLEARLY because of confusion and people's lack of reading skills. Her first statement even started off with the EXACT same thing she said here. Why are people ignoring that?

Being critical of other women's feminism doesn't help the feminist movement at all. Women need to come together in numbers and stand strong against unfair treatment. Saying "Beyoncé twerks, SHE CAN'T POSSIBLY CARE ABOUT EQUAL RIGHTS FOR WOMEN!", is moving the feminist movement ten steps back. But to each its own.
