By all conventional accounts a song that charts top 10 on the Billboard Charts should be considered a hit no question, but in the case of how Dope reached no. 8 it is quite contentious. Do you consider it a hit regardless?
You have members of other fanbases calling their faves top 30 peaking singles HITS so of course it is
lol a Top 30 single is a hit. Normally, a Top 10 hit would be a smash hit. But, the circumstances are different here. You must know that. Perhaps you don't. The circumstances are different here. Dope reached Top 10 due to exploited and unintentional streaming points thanks to the advertisement of a live performance tacked onto most videos on YouTube during the tracking week. Pretty sure it only spent like 2 weeks on the chart lol. That's not a hit.
It's a rarity. While it did hit #8 on Billboard, that was based on 95% streams. t fell into the 70s in the next week and out the week after and was never certified or anything so I don't count it.

It had only 15M views on Youtube (the performance). The sales were around 130k counted for the Hot 100, however these "pre order" sales were not counted towards Digital Songs and that's why Dope wasn't there.
