A few days ago it was announced Kylie Minogue had cancelled all her German shows due to the organiser going bankrupt, but according to the venues and the organiser it turns out the shows could've gone on as planned. Newspapers claim that they did however, reveal that only 12,000 tickets tickets were sold in total for four shows, so about 20% of the tickets available. Kylie was already paid so they are seeking to get their money back, otherwise fans won't be able to get a refund either.
Kylie said in her statement that they were unable to get confirmation, from the people who were managing the bankruptcy, whether she could perform at the venues or not. They have the confirmation now, but it's way too late.
I don't think it's as bad as it seems, 12,000 tickets being 20% means each show was going to be 20k people - when the arenas are in the 10 - 13k range.

Your calculations are wrong, it'd mean 5x 12,000 = 60,000
60000/4 = 15,000 per show, which is perfectly possible
She needs a giant hit and that is not coming as long as she stays in that same record company. I feel so sad for her & the fans but we all know this was coming
why 4 arenas if she can't sell them out and not just 1 arena?

Didn't she change the record company from Parlaphone to Jay Z's Roc Nation?
Without any shade but I thought she was a massive gay icon here in Europe? As in, she doesn't need a current hit to draw the audience? It's pretty sad if she wouldn't be able to fill even 1 arena?
